Introducing Zoya's Orofacial Pain & Dental Sleep remedies PLLC
Zoya's Orofacial Pain & Dental Sleep Remedies practice is based on providing the best TMD, Orofacial pain and dental sleep care to patients in the memory of a beautiful soul named Zoya. Zoya fought a courageous battle against Ewing's Sarcoma that included numerous chemotherapy sessions, a resection, a reconstructive surgery of her right hip and a bone marrow transplant. The cancer won this battle but during her short time, she taught patience, determination & endurance to all those around her.
She once mentioned that she wanted to be a cancer doctor, but then followed up by saying, "Actually I want to become a nurse. I know how much it hurts when they put a needle in my port. I will make sure that no child will hurt any more".

We want to share the spirit of Zoya for the betterment of our patients and society.
It is with this intention that Zoya's Orofacial Pain & Dental Sleep Remedies was started, so that TMD, Orofacial pain & Dental sleep apnea patinets can get the best care possible following a multimodal aproach. TMD Orofacial Pain & Dental Sleep Remedies is a 13th CODA accredited subspecilaity in Dentistry. Please help us in realizing Zoya's dream.

Headaches (TTH, Migraines, TACs)
Headaches (TTH, Migraines, TACs)
Identification of headaches followed by multi modal approach.
Headaches can present in various age groups and have a significant burdeon on the health care system in in terms of insurance, affecting the psychological status in addition to lost work days of the victim as well as families being affected. We provide screening of all headaches and initial management specific to each case. Often times imaging is required, to rule out structural lesions. Patients may also need psychological counselling so we work in collaboration with radiologists, health psychologists, and most importantly, headache specialists to provide ideal treatment specific to every patient. Often times there is need for immediate action, so we screen for all possible red flags of headaches. We always include screening for Myofascial trigger points as a possible risk factor in headaches.
Myofascial Trigger Point TrP Injections
Myofascial Trigger Point TrP Injections
A trigger point is a painful area within a taut band of a muscle, that when squeezed generates local & referred pain sensations. The cause of taut band is hyperactive motor nerve branch, which generates sustained contraction in the muscle fibers attached to motor end plate that the nerve branch supplies. Our understanding of TrP allows identification of referaal patterns.
Active TrP is painful spontaneously and produces referred pain when squeezed.
Latent TrP is not painful spontaneously and does not produce referred pain when squeezed.
MAD devices for mild-moderate OSA (Obstructive sleep apnea)
MAD devices for mild-moderate OSA (Obstructive sleep apnea)
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) comprises of repetitive pauses or reductions in breathing during sleep, due to collapse of the upper airway when the muscles of the upper airway (including tongue, soft palate) become relaxed during sleep narrowing significantly or completely blocking the airway, and preventing breathing usually accompanied by reduction in blood oxygen levels and followed by an awakening to breathe resulting in chronic tiredness and fatigue.
If left untreated, OSA can result in a growing number of health problems, including: High blood pressure, stroke, heart failure, irregular heart beats, and heart attacks. We need to treat the cause and not the outcome.
The gold standard for OSA is CPAP, but in patients who are unable to tolerate CPAP, we use MAD (mandibular advancement devices) to help open up the airway by sliding mandible forward.
